Shape Analysis from Complex Systems using Information Geometry tools
نویسنده
چکیده
One of the most important properties of Complex Systems is the forming of patterns: a band of fish in the sea, a flight of birds in the sky, the dunes in the desert are only few examples, [2, 3]. These patterns are not shapes fixed in time but they evolve with the dynamics of the Complex Systems and vary according to their level of selforganization. The aim of this paper is modeling statistically the patterns from Complex Systems and describing step by step their change, using Information Geometry tools. In particular we wish to discover an index which is capable to understand the trend in the self-organization phenomenon and capture eventual signals of crisis.

An Enhanced Finite Element method for Two Dimensional Linear Viscoelasticity using Complex Fourier Elements
In this paper, the finite element analysis of two-dimensional linear viscoelastic problems is performed using quadrilateral complex Fourier elements and, the results are compared with those obtained by quadrilateral classic Lagrange elements. Complex Fourier shape functions contain a shape parameter which is a constant unknown parameter adopted to enhance approximation’s accuracy. Since the iso...
متن کاملGeometry Processing and Statistical Shape Analysis of 3-D Anthropometry Data
3-D anthropometry data obtained from 3-D scanning technology provide detailed information about the human shape. However, due to the limitations of the sensors, such as field of view, lighting condition, and object self-occlusion, the raw 3-D data are usually noisy and incomplete. Much processing is necessary before they can be used for statistical analysis. In this paper, we present geometry p...
متن کاملTime-Discontinuous Finite Element Analysis of Two-Dimensional Elastodynamic Problems using Complex Fourier Shape Functions
This paper reformulates a time-discontinuous finite element method (TD-FEM) based on a new class of shape functions, called complex Fourier hereafter, for solving two-dimensional elastodynamic problems. These shape functions, which are derived from their corresponding radial basis functions, have some advantages such as the satisfaction of exponential and trigonometric function fields in comple...
متن کاملTHIN WALLED STEEL SECTIONS’ FREE SHAPE OPTIMIZATION USING CHARGED SYSTEM SEARCH ALGORITHM
Graph theory based methods are powerful means for representing structural systems so that their geometry and topology can be understood clearly. The combination of graph theory based methods and some metaheuristics can offer effective solutions for complex engineering optimization problems. This paper presents a Charged System Search (CSS) algorithm for the free shape optimizations of thin-wall...
متن کاملA Diachronic study on the Morphology of Mirak Lithic Tools using 3D Geometric Morphometrics and Multivariate Analysis
The study of the morphology of stone artifacts and their spatio-temporal changes in form has gained great importance in Paleolithic archaeology today. This growing attention is due to the prevalent use of advanced multivariate statistical methods in archaeology, the growing connection between archaeologists and the specialists of life sciences (e.g., animal biosystematics) and programming langu...
